Tipster “Smart Pikachu” on Weibo yesterday revealed that the Oppo’s Find X8 Serries, next-generation book-style foldable, Realme GT6 Pro, and OnePlus 13 will boast a massive 6000mAh capacity inside. This could be due to the performance-focused next-generation flagship chips. A previous report from today talks about the use of chipsets in some of these upcoming flagships.

It could increase the weight of the upcoming flagships

The use of bigger batteries, if true, will increase the weight of the phones significantly. For context, the Find X7 and Find X7 Ultra both use 5000 mAh batteries, while the Realme GT5 Pro and the OnePlus 12 equips slightly larger 5400 mAh battery. All the devices above weigh between 202g and 224g. Without a change in the body such as the use of a considerably lighter material, the weight will increase with an extra 600mAh capacity.

According to another recent leak, the Find X8 series will arrive in October, which is months earlier as compared to the January launch of its predecessor.

The Find X8 series is expected to incorporate both the Dimensity and Snapdragon chips. Previously Qualcomm Chief Marketing Officer revealed that the company will hold the Snapdragon Summit in October and will introduce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. Oppo is likely planning to release the next Find series flagship just after the Snapdragon Summit that will include the new chipset.

Some previous rumors have claimed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 flagships will require larger batteries to maintain or improve the battery life due to the chipset being more power-hungry as compared to its predecessor. Based on what we know so far, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4’s performance cores will reach up to 4.2GHz. The Adreno 830 GPU (an upgrade from the Adreno 750) competes with Apple M2.

The Dimensity 9400 on the other hand consists of one Cortex-X5 Prime CPU core, three Cortex-X4 Prime CPU cores, and four Cortex-A720 performance CPU cores.
